LITTLE CAESARS BRINGS “HOT AND READY” TO THE STARTING LINE AS THE OFFICAL EVENT SPONSOR OF THE OKC NATIONALS DRAG BOAT RACES

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — May 1, 2009 – Little Caesars, a subsidiary of Magnum Foods, Inc., has been named the official event sponsor for the inaugural Oklahoma City Nationals drag boat races.  Presented by Oklahoma City Events & Entertainment (OKCEE), the newly named Little Caesars OKC Nationals is scheduled June 5-7 this year and is expected to bring up to 150 race teams and 30,000+ spectators to the Oklahoma River.

“This type of event is a natural fit for Little Caesars, our products and our customers.  And considering the amazing speed these boats generate, we felt like our ‘Hot and Ready’ promotional tag was the perfect complement for the starting line,” said Steve Price, president of Magnum Foods, Inc.  “We are excited that the races are returning to the Oklahoma River and look forward to a fun, family-friendly weekend.”

According to Mike McAuliffe of OKCEE, the event’s new presenter, “The Hot and Ready Starting Line is just one element that makes this venture a successful partnership.  Little Caesars’ reputation as a family-friendly, affordable dining option is one of the reasons we wanted to partner with them on this event.  Our goal is to promote the races, and all activities included, as an affordable family event that offers something for every age group.” 

Major sponsors for the event include the Oklahoma City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority, the City of Oklahoma City and Doctor on Call.  Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, The Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau, Snap-On Tools, The Biltmore Hotel, Chickasaw Nation, United States Navy and the Oklahoma City Navy League are all VIP event sponsors.  Media sponsors Citadel Communications, Cox Media, Lamar Outdoor Advertising and the Journal Record will play a key role in the promotion of the event.

Other event sponsors include the Bricktown Association, Hornblower River Cruises, Marianne’s Party Rental, MindsEye!,  Oklahoma HealthCard, Playboy Energy Drink, Shawnee Tribe,  Southern Drag Boat Association, USA Screen Printing and Embroidery and Waste Management.

The Little Caesars OKC Nationals will be the first, and possibly the largest, race of the season for the Southern Drag Boat Association.  Competitors in 13 classes, including Top Fuel Hydros that reach speeds up to 250 mph, will not only compete for a share of the purse, but for points to move them closer to national and divisional championships.
